Hrishikesh Danawe

Hrishikesh Danawe (September 2019 – present)

I completed my BS and MS (dual) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 2019 with my masters specialization in mechanical systems design. Previously, I did my research in the field of railway vehicle dynamics for my masters thesis. My current research is focused on Gradient Index Phononic Crystal (GRIN-PC) lenses for guided wave amplification in non-planar structures. My broad area of interest is in dynamics and vibrations, wave propagation, metamaterials and smart structures. In my spare time, I like to watch movies, play cricket, and read novels.

Zhenkun Lin

Zhenkun Lin (September 2019 – present)

I received my BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University in China. As a MS student I did research on vibro-acoustic analysis of structures. My current research is focused on designing elastic metasurfaces to control the low frequency wavefront. In my free time, I like swimming, listening to music, and playing electronic keyboard.

I received my BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University and got a MS degree in Robotics Institute from the University of Michigan. My previous research focused on the dynamics of the legged robot. My research interest includes analysis and design of system dynamics. In my spare time, I like to exercise, watch movies, and go hiking.

I am currently a junior in undergrad studying computer science and physics. I’m very interested in sustainable and renewable energy technologies and love participating in sustainability related efforts on campus and abroad. My research focuses on creating and evaluating new adaptive metasurface designs. In my free time I like to play tennis, ping pong, chess, read, and go on hikes. 

Phyllis Alinsao (ME’23)

I am currently a junior studying mechanical engineering in the University of Michigan. My current interests lie in space exploration and launch vehicles! In my last internship at Northrop Grumman, I worked with Instrumentation and Tests, where I was responsible for coordinating and conducting various tests with engineers for investigations or flight part qualification. In my next internship at Spacex, I will be working with the Flight Safety Systems group for Starship! On campus, I am involved with my design team, SPARK Electric Racing, which designs and builds electric motorcycles. I currently work on the business and mechanical subteams. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, exploring new cities, going to the gym, and hosting cooking nights with my friends.
